Tacoma Adventist Community Services (TACS) was founded in 1975 as a small food bank in the basement of a church. We helped church members and families from local pastor referrals at first. We then began opening the doors to the community on days when other food banks were closed. In 1985, in collaboration with Emergency Food Network and Diabetes Association of Pierce County, we started providing food for homeless diabetic clients.

Since then, we have grown and are now serving Low income individuals with illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular disease and other illnesses that require special dietary needs.
